No, not the marshmallow kind of peeps . . .
No knitting done last night; I had my bi-monthly(ish) Girl Dinner with my friends Rebekah and Dolores . . . usually we have a bigger group, but everyone else either couldn't make it or bailed.
It's a fun tradition that I highly recommend; here's the recipe:
------------------------------------------------------------
Girl Dinner
Serves as many as show up
Ingredients:
a bunch of friends who may or may not go back many years (some of us are friends from college, others are recent additions)
several glasses of wine or other beverage
one restaurant (preferably one that doesn't mind people camping out for hours)
Directions:
Mix well and season liberally with stories. Enjoy!
One rule: Whoever doesn't show up gets talked about.

So . . . what does everyone have on tap for the weekend?? For me, it's knitting and knitting and more knitting -- the Tricot-along starts tomorrow, so I'll be swatching and casting on for that . . . and working on at least a couple of other projects I have in the works.
And if I'm lucky, I will have another, non-knitting project to occupy my time this weekend . . . but more on that later (I don't want to jinx it).
The photos of my in-progress T3 turned out poo-ey (the color was SO not right), so I thought I'd post something not-ugly instead . . .

Ok, so I'm jumping on the Booga Bag Bandwagon (ooo, that's fun to say!) with this Noro -- isn't it purty? I can't wait to see how it looks all stripey and felty.
And for my Tricot:

The color on the purple is actually pretty true in the photo (at least on my Mac monitor) -- it's just a touch deeper than lavender, with a little blue. If I had to name it, I would call it "hydrangea". Not my first choice of color, but since it will be only my second sweater (IF the T3 gets done first, that is), I wanted to make it easier on myself and use the yarn called for in the pattern. And, it is the only color of Cotton Ease that I could find enough of in the same dye lot . . . so "hydrangea" it is.
The actual name of the color is "Sugarplum", but I'm not so much loving that name -- I've never seen an actual sugarplum, but it just sounds a bit too Christmas-y to me. Anyone know if real sugarplums are the same color as hydrangeas?
Grrrrr . . . my DSL at home was down last night, so I couldn't post the pretty pictures I have to show you! Hopefully tonight . . .
In other news, I almost ran over a Nobel Laureate this morning as I was groggily driving through campus on my way to work! Ack!
And now, for your viewing pleasure . . . pics of my kitties!
Cloey, looking shiny-eyed:

And Abby, looking sleepy:

Much, much more about these two to come, I'm sure . . . as well as their connection to the word "skittermagoo".
And now, I'm off to go work on my T3 and then take some more pictures to show you!
I just put up a whole bunch of links to other knitting blogs that I read, and I suddenly wondered if it is considered bad netiquette to link to a site without asking that person first . . .
Oh jeez, I hope not . . . someone please let me know, and if it IS bad netiquette, I will quick take them off until I get permission!
And with that, I hope everyone out there has a great Sunday afternoon . . . I definitely will, because Stitch n Bitch is today! Yay!
Hey y'all, I have a new banner! And I changed my template myself with the changes . . . go, me! I know, it's easy, no big deal, blah blah blah, but hey, this is my first time to do this, so it's exciting (to me, anyway).
The banner, which I love, was designed by my husband, Brad, who I also love. He's a graphic designer by trade, so he's verrrry useful to have around.
Good morning! It's raining buckets here in Dallas, and it's WAY too early to be awake, but I'm up and figuring out how to post a picture for y'all to see:

Socks! My first socks, actually -- I finished them right before Easter. I was so impressed with myself, being a beginner and all -- once I got these pups done, I felt like I could do ANYTHING!
Cheers for now . . . I'm off to play with my template and stuff. Stay tuned for lots of changes (hopefully good ones).
Hi there, and welcome to skittermagoo.com!
I'm fresh and new to this Moveable Type thing, so bear with me while I learn enough to customize and learn to post images, etc.
Hopefully soon you will see some KNITTING here! :)
